One of my favorites summers was in January 2016 when I and my schoolmates backpacking all the south of Chile, we were seven including me. I remember that we planed this trip since we were in 8th grade and I worked the last month before our trip because I did not save money any year!. I told them to start in Rancagua/Machali because there were my grandparents who would help us with some food, cleaning products, and I needed to get there my tent obviously. So we met there and started to go south until we reached some city or town, or until it was night and we would need to put our tents. This was what I liked from our trip, we did not choose specific destinations, we only traveled to the south with a compass, and the times that night fell we asked people from there if we could sleep in their yards or even farms! I fell in love with those people because they were so nice with us! Characteristic from the south people.
And I remember we reached first Talca where we slept in the house of my cousins. From there we arrived at Cauquenes and later Concepción. We visited so many towns and some citys but I can not remember all the names, the thing is that we reached Puerto Montt where we stayed like 3 days traveling around there. And finally we arrived at a schoolmate's house in Chiloé where we stayed a whole week! We did not have enough money to continue backpacking, so we decided to stay there for a while touring the surroundings. Obviously we did not stayed the whole week in my friend's house, we camp like in a country area where we could climb hills, fishing in rivers, and more! After a week, we bought tickets back to Santiago. Definitely this summer was one of my favorites since I love to travel, and with my friends even more!!
